Snow Storm – February 15, 2014
This shot was another location shot during the snow storm on February 13th. When I first stumbled upon this location the trees in the top upper right corner were on fire. Within one minute that was gone and I did not capture that. Over the next 30 minutes, I waited for the sun and clouds to cooperate with me. Eventually, everything arranged itself as you see it is here. The dark clouds on the left upper corner arrived and were gone within two minutes, but this time I was ready and waiting. The sky was volatile as the snow clouds were moving out; within about an hour, it was full, clear sun the remainder of the day. In a way, this scene reminded me of shooting out west in Zion National Park. Sunlight has such a dramatic effect and can change everything so quickly.
