Long Gone

I thought it was about time to post an image that most of the world thinks is The South.

And this is certainly part of the story. This old home sits on main street Adairsville, Georgia. I don’t know anything about it except that it is old, and those days are gone; hence the name “Long Gone”.

Back in the nineties, I used to travel the US on the weekends and sometimes for longer in Europe working first for L’Oreal, then Wella, as a platform artist (out of town hairstylist). I was teaching other hairstylists hair color, current trends and cutting skills. I was always amazed at the someĀ of the questions I was asked both from the audience and my support staff. And they were dead serious; they believed the question! Things like did I live on a dirt road? Did people go barefoot in the summer? Did I listen to country music? Did I use well water in the salon; did it work?

I finally got to where I would play with them and try to spin a Mark Twain on them. I am certain a percentage believed me!
